Hazard Reduction + Land Management Support

Services and Solutions to Councils and Landowners

Trac Logistics [and it’s partner Traccorp Specialised Firefighting] is a fifth-generation firefighting family that links its industry leading managers, personnel and expert external consultants. It provides a fleet of heavy vehicles, equipment and plant to meet all requirements.

To better assist client bushfire risk, hazard mitigation and land management ‘treatment’ programs, Trac provides for the ‘integrated package’ to define and deliver all planning, logistics operations development to any prescribed hazard mitigation requirement, in addition to land, boundary line and track clearing.

All methods are delivered to the exact land boundaries and under the correct weather patterns/conditions. It will do this in line with any regulations and also sympathetically, with recognition of the localised environment and the local community.

Utlising its expert external consultants and integrating this with the advanced in-field capabilities of the company and its people, including the integration of an indigenous workforce, Trac delivers high quality, strategic bushfire planning and advanced land management operations and logistics to clients.

Development or maintenance of existing fire-breaks on your land holdings dramatically reduce the potential or actual impacts of bushfire. Also importantly allowing access to your property for fire-emergency services if required.  A key component of bushfire risk management, they provide options for your defence planning against property bushfire.

A legal requirement in many areas, the fire-breaks are essentially packages of land cleared of all flammable matter including tree/leaf matter/shrubbery and grass areas. The ground areas are prepared to allow for access in bushfire events by emergency services vehicles, and they form a significant component of your property’s safety level.

Developing Fire Protection Access

Trac Logistics will either develop in full your fire-breaks or Asset Protection Zones [APZ’s] or alternatively maintain the option as part of a structured maintenance plan, or one off works at your site. Utilising Trac’s expeditionary logistics service to clear your bushland, slash growth and/or conduct hazard reduction via burn patterns, our fully insured teams can come to your site with a complete package of [pre-developed] mitigation strategy, logistics plan for works, uniformed personnel, heavy plant/vehicles and specialised equipment. This provides you the client an end-to-end solution for all your requirements.

Experience When it Counts

Trac Logistics [and it’s partner Traccorp Specialised Firefighting] have been delivering hazard management, reduction and response services to international name brands for over fifteen years. Brands include Queensland Rail, Aurizon, BHP, John Holland, Loram, Autech, Brookfield and more. Stemming from five generations of a firefighting and emergency management family, our significant capability is provided to keep clients and their land holdings secure and safe for their future.

Hazard Reduction Burning [also referred to as controlled or prescribed burning] lower risks and potential impacts of bushfire. Trac Logistics has significant experience in hazard reduction by utilising bushfire mitigation strategies including controlled burning. Trac’s hazard reduction process uses safe burn pattern practices to reduce bush and leaf matter materials on pre-designated property areas.

Small to Large Land Holdings

Trac Logistics can deploy controlled/prescribed burns to both smaller private properties in addition to large commercial holdings, local council areas or government lands. This includes options of fire-break access [development or renewal], or the planned reduction of hazardous vegetation/fuel loadings.  The initial planning process is inclusive of vegetation, fuel loading and topographical assessment/surveys. At this stage, further standardised mitigation strategies are included to ensure that all processes follow monitored safety guidelines. Additionally, all works are insured in full.

Environmentally Aware in Reducing Hazards

Linked to Trac’s significant [uniformed] personnel, plant and equipment capabilities, the controlled/prescribed burns will lower the impact of bushfire risk across a range of environments. Burning sympathetically to the established environment will ensure that your site or landholdings biodiversity is maintained, in that the process will encourage regeneration and protect against plant disease. Careful consideration will be applied to environmental factors such as future native plant/s regeneration and also to local wildlife [both pre and post burn].

The level of bushland, scrub and leaf matter on your property can be hazardous, increasingly so as it dries out. The risks are increased of a fire not only starting, but the level of impact it will have on your site and neighbouring land holdings. Managing flammable materials on your land allows for greater control and reduced risk. This is completed by managing vegetation and fuel loadings to a safe level.

Tractor

Trac Logistic’s support services will align to Council regulatory requirements and are sympathetic to cultural and environmental concerns. Operating under strict guidelines, we ensure our environmental footprint is light. Trac’s bush-clearing services include carrying our vegetation surveys, identifying the level of fuel loads and any vegetation levels deemed hazardous. Our land management team then arrive with heavy plant and equipment, and our uniformed staff carry out forestry mulching to reduce hazardous fuel loading. Achieved by clearing excess vegetation, bushland detritus, slashing, hazard reduction burning or a combination of all mitigation types. Fire-breaks are added or maintained.

An essential requirement for properties or land holdings in bushfire prone areas, Asset Protection Zones (APZ) are areas that surround a facility or land holding where hazardous levels of fuel are actively reduced. These APZ’s may apply to commercial, residential, industrial or agricultural interests, and a key component of each is facilitating the access of emergency services and vehicles to protect your property.

Through bush-clearing, fire-breaks and other strategies, Trac Logistics Land Management teams can provide a planned and deployed [uniformed personnel, heavy vehicle, plant and equipment] solution to ensure that all council and environmental guidelines are met.
